Hazelton-Butler Auxiliary

American Legion Auxiliary Unit #53.

The Auxiliary is the heart of the community-service work at Post 53. Female members and family members of veterans of every branch, carrying the mission forward in Buckeye since the Post itself was chartered in 1929.

Auxiliary Unit #53 stands beside Post 53. Where the Post is the home for veterans, the Auxiliary is the home for military families, and together we are stronger. Most of the volunteer hours that make our programs run — the meals served, the ceremonies decorated, the scholarships awarded, the families looked after — come through the Auxiliary.

Membership in the Auxiliary is open to female relatives of an American Legion member or eligible veteran (mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters). If you have a veteran in your family, you have a place in this Unit.

Auxiliary Unit #53 hosted Post 53's 95-year charter celebration on June 15, 2024. The current Unit officers are being confirmed and will be published on the Post Officers page.

Eligible? We'd love to have you.

Eligibility for the American Legion Auxiliary is rooted in the same wartime service periods that govern Legion membership. If your father, husband, brother, son, grandfather, or great-grandfather served during an eligible period, you can join.

Get the official eligibility periods at legion-aux.org, or call us and we'll walk you through it.
